The ReCip®, Reciprocating Water Technologies, is
an effective wastewater treatment process Developed,
Patented, and Trademarked by the Tennessee
Valley Authority's (TVA) Environmental Research
Center. This natural, environmentally friendly alternative
wastewater treatment system may be used for Domestic
(municipal, rural, homeowners,
developers, no-perk soils, etc), Animal
(swine, poultry, fisheries, dairy, etc.), and Industrial
(contaminants, explosives, acid and alkaline leachates,
and other redox-specific reactions, etc) applications.
BioConcepts, Inc., a North Carolina based company,
is the licensed agent for TVA's ReCip® Technology.
We currently have a project under construction at Atlantic
Beach, North Carolina.
ReCip® Benefits: - 75% of more reduction in land area needed to treat wastewater over most conventional treatment systems
- Economical to build and maintain (when compared to other approved conventional systems)
- Versatile - Can be used to remediate (clean up) a variety of targeted contaminants including, but not limited to: Heavy Metals, Ammonia (and its odor!!), Pathogenic Organisms (fecal coliform, bacteria, etc), Suspended Solids, COD & BOD5, and Phosphorous
- Flexible in design and construction. A small system can be built for a single home, or multiple homes (subdivision), and then expanded as more home sites are developed.
- Environmentally sound and friendly, using natural
processes (no chemicals). Water reuse for golf courses,
watering lawns, and other similar applications are
possible.
- Safe - system is subsurface, there is no visible water
- Esthetically pleasing - Plants (if desired) contained
can be blooming, evergreen, native, or exotic as your
needs, or garden dictates. ReCip's can double
as a "green space" , or just be an attractive
addition to any landscape while serving the function
as the wastewater treatment system.
- Tested - Currently there are eight full-scale commercial sites operating or under construction in the US treating a variety of industrial, animal (swine), and municipal wastewater. Other applications are being tested and await regulatory approval before construction.
